A Drawing a Day, BCN 2020 Introduction

Hello to the world from Barcelona!
Since onsite classes at the Eina Design School (UAB) have been temporarily cancelled due to the current health crisis in Spain, Illustration professor Philip Stanton and his undergraduate & graduate students are making a group reportage project, each participant will create (at least) one drawing a day of their current situation and help others benefit from their experiences and talent.
We believe drawing is a way to help us understand the world as it is and as it can be. Drawing is a tool with the power to help us express and understand our emotions and human condition. Drawing can be a call to action, a cry of protest and a plea for love and tolerance, sometimes all at the same time. Through this project we hope to use creativity to fight the COVID-19 virus (and hopefully the boredom of self-quarantine along the way!).
We will be posting more info and examples later today but in the meantime, where ever you are please stay safe, and for those of you in countries affected please stay inside, be careful and be creative. With love from Barcelona!

Many thanks to Andre Stefanini, Brasilian ex-alumni of the Eina Postgraduate illustration program 2014-15 who illustrated the front cover of the MoleSkine sketchbooks Philip is using for this project, They originated as part of another group reportage project for MNAC which philip's students made in 2014-15. you can find out more information on that project here!
